February Newsletter

 From the Principal's Office:

During Semester 1 our school community established goals around attendance, tardies and academic success and part of our School Improvement Plan.  Each month of the semester we monitored our progress, encouraged each other, and created accountabilities that we hoped would translate into success.  Our Student Leadership Team created an incentive if we met our goals, and we have!  Next Thursday, February 15th, our students earned an extended lunch.  This incentive can be earned each month if we meet our targets.  See below our data closing out Semester 1.  We are particularly encouraged by the performance of our freshmen class.  93% of our 146 freshmen passed all their classes!  Of course, the goal is that 100% of our students are successful in their courses, and we need your support to help make that happen.  We will continue with these goals in Semester 2, with the added goals for performance in our state testing in Math, Literacy and Science.


From the Guidance Office:

8th Grade Parents and Students - Please join us in the Cashmere High School Community Center on Thursday March 7th at 6-7pm for Future Freshman Parent Night.  You will learn about 9th grade course options, the sequence of classes in core subject areas for grades 9-12, graduation requirements and more!


College Options In High School Parent Event will be  Thursday, March 7thfrom 7:00-8:00 pm in the CHS Commons.

We will be learning about College In The High School Programs, Dual Credit Classes and Running Start.  Plan to learn about great options through EWU, CWU, WVC and the UW.

Seniors love scholarships!

Many of our local scholarships are due on March 1st.  Students-check the scholarship board, CHS Guidance Webpage or stop in the guidance office to learn more.

Students need parents financial information and letters of recommendations to apply.  Money is waiting…don’t miss out.

  • Spring Sports Info and Sign-up meetings for students Wednesday, 2/14 @ Lunch
  • Spring Sports start Monday, 2/26 ( Remember Family ID, Current physical, ASB and Athletic Fee)
  • Winter Sports Awards 3/6 in the Community Center at 7 pm
  • Please come out and support Unified Basketball's debut at 6pm on Tuesday, 2/20 at CHS.  This program needs all our community support!  We are grateful to Wendy Tankersely and Jeff Carlson for spearheading CHS involvement in Unified Sports and excited to see our students at play supporting each other on the court.  Unified Basketball pairs differently abled students with peer partners to compete and experience the joy of competition and the camraderie that comes with being a part of a team.  Please come out and cheer our team on!

The Drama Program's performance of Mama Mia was a resounding success! Thanks to the community for your support of our program!  Announcement of next year’s shows at our Evening of Excellence in the Arts on May 6th.
