November CHS Newsletter

Cashmere High School Monthly Newsletter - November ‘26

From the Principal’s Office

November is a month that reminds us of the many blessings that come with being a part of the Cashmere School Community and I want to express my gratitude to students, families, staff, community members, district leadership and our school board for the many ways you make Cashmere High School a special place.   Last month, our Board visited CHS to hear about our progress on School Improvement Goals, to visit classrooms and to connect with students and staff.  This year is the 3rd year in our six year accreditation as a school and we’ve taken time to reflect on our growth goals over the past years and the continuing commitments to excellence. Our staff has committed to sharing their instructional practices with each other, to elevating for our students little things they can do daily to make us better that Take No Talent, and to reaching out to parents and community members to engage them in our school activities.  Student Led Conferences gave us yet another opportunity to connect with students and families around learning, personal growth and  future goals at CHS and beyond.  I’m proud of the positivity that defines our school, of the high expectations for behavior, academic engagement and citizenship, and of the rich traditions that ground us in this special community.  A special “Thank You” to Veterans in the Cashmere community and those currently serving at home and abroad.  I hope that you can join us at Ron Doane Gymnasium on Nov. 10th at 10am so that we can thank you for your service in person.

From The Dean of Student’s Office

As we wrap up a great first quarter, we want to take a moment to say how thankful we are for our students and the hard work they have put in these past weeks. Your effort has not gone unnoticed, and it has set a strong tone for the rest of the year. As we move into November, our focus is on being prepared and living every day with passion. These two commitments even the playing field for all kids by centering our campus around things that take no talent (TNT) or special gifts to succeed at. Getting prepared and living with passion don’t depend on natural ability; they only require a decision and follow-through. This month, I challenge every student to find reasons to be thankful and to use our TNT focus to get better each day. What if we all lived with an attitude of gratitude and a willingness to pursue greatness in the areas of character that we have complete control over? I believe that together we can make this November our best month yet. Let’s get after it!

We are thankful for you!

Department Spotlight - Choir

The Cashmere High School Choir Department recently hosted a fantastic concert that brought our school community together and packed the auditorium! It was wonderful to see so many families and community members come out to support our students as they shared their hard work, musical growth, and passion for singing. We are incredibly proud of the dedication our students have shown this year and grateful for the tremendous support from our families and community.

Looking ahead, our Jazz Choir and Jazz Band will be representing Cashmere High School at the NCWMEA Fall Jazz Workshop, where students will have the opportunity to perform, learn from other musicians, and continue growing as jazz performers. We are excited to see them showcase their talents!

Student Spotlight - Fatima Flores

From Mr. Pace: Fatima has been one of the most impressive young adults I’ve had the privilege to teach.  I am constantly amazed by her work ethic, intelligence, sincerity, and kindness.  She has always been willing to put in extra time to make sure that she is doing her very best work.  She chooses the more challenging path every time and always follows through.  As a an English language learner, she has improved far beyond expectations.  She is very thoughtful and a great writer who takes time to perfect her translations.  On top of all that, she selflessly gives her time to help translate for and give advice to other students.
