From the Principal's Office - March, and in particular these past two weeks, has been full of activities and opportunities for Bulldogs! Time and energy invested by students and staff this year is bearing fruit, so we want to dedicate this month's newsletter to celebrating the many learning experiences that define Cashmere High School.

WSU Visit - 30 Bulldogs will travel with Ms. Gemeinhart and Mr. Theiss to WSU on April 19th at part of an "Imagine Experience".  We believe that putting students on a college campus and providing them with a vision of themselves as college students is an important part of the post-high school pathway development.  This will be the first of many in the coming years as we reconnect in person with our partner technical schools, colleges and universities.

Summer Tech Program - Wenatchee Tech Center is offering a summer academy for its programs between June 19th and July 7th.   PROGRAMS OFFERED IN THE PAST INCLUDE: AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY, DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS, COLLISION REPAIR, CONSTRUCTION TRADES, COSMETOLOGY, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, FIRE FIGHTING SCIENCE, VIDEO GAME DESIGN and CULINARY ARTS. National Honor Society Application Timeline - Attention CHS current 10th and 11th graders! The Cashmere Chapter of National Honor Society will be accepting applications for membership for the 2023/2024 school year! Please see below for important dates. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA and must show that they exemplify the four pillars of National Honor Society: service, character, scholarship, and citizenship!

Students Recovering Credits online via Plato over Spring Break - Spring Break is next week! It is an excellent time for students to make some serious progress with their online courses. Even finish a course! 

Things to Remember:

-Complete all tutorials and tests

-Mastery Tests, Unit Post Tests, and End of Semester Tests must score 70% or higher

-if a mastery test is locked redo the tutorial to unlock it

Career Week: We closed Career Week last week with Career Day.  Bulldogs dressed for success and CHS hosted 19 Professionals from the community (many of them Bulldog Alumni!) to share their expertise and provide insight into expectations, responsibilities and benefits of their careers.

Internship - This semester, we have 20 student interns working in various capacities in the community with professionals to learn more about their career interests, network, and develop skills that will support their goals.  We are grateful to our growing network of community partners invested in mentoring Bulldogs! Juniors and Seniors interested in earning credits through an applied learning experience with a professional in a field that represents a possible career path should consider an internship as we move into the course registration process.

FCCLA Recognition - CHS has 2 FCCLA nationals qualifiers! They competed at state yesterday and now have the opportunity to compete at the national level in Denver, CO in July

Band Recognition  -  The Cashmere High School Concert Band has been working hard over the last two months to prepare a program for our annual Large Group Band Festival at Wenatchee HS.  At the festival last Wednesday, the band performed for two adjudicators who worked with our band and gave us some valuable feedback to help the band continue to grow.  Our band had a fabulous performance and earned a Superior rating from the adjudicators, which is the highest score on their rating scale.  Great job Bulldog musicians!

From the Principal's Office: 

• Bulldogs in their freshmen, sophomore and junior years are piloting presentations that challenge students to reflect on who they are, what skills they have and what they want to do with those skills after high school.  We believe these presentations and the process of preparing them will support the academic and career planning process for our students, and improve focus in their senior projects and presentations.  Freshmen and Juniors will be presenting in small groups in their advisories, while Sophomores will present to parents and teachers as part of district conferencing on March 22nd.  Find links to the presentation slide templates below.

From the Assistant Principal's Office:

• Our After School Academic Support Program is in session for semester 2.  Any student referred to 'Afters' is mandated to attend.  Attendance is NOT optional.  Afters provides students struggling to complete school work an opportunity to do so with support from a certified teacher in a focused environment.  Students who fail to attend are subject to progressive school discipline.  Once they are caught up on their missing work with the teacher who referred them, they are released from Afters.  This program runs from 3:05-4:00pm Monday-Thursday in the library.

From the School Counselor's Office:  

• 8th Grade Parent Night - CHS is excited to welcome parents of students in 8th grade to learn about our programs, extracurriculars and expectations for students making the transition to Cashmere High School.  8th Grade Parent Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 9th from 6-7pm in the CHS Community Center.  The evening will include introductions of freshmen teachers, highlights of our extracurricular sports, clubs and organizations, a preview of the course registration process and reflections of student leaders on how to make the most of your high school experiences.
• College Options Night - At 7pm on Thursday, March 9th, CHS Parents and students are welcome to learn about the various opportunities CHS provides Bulldogs to earn college credits while in high school.  Learn about our growing opportunities to earn college credit without leaving CHS, the relationships we have established with UW, Central, Eastern and WVC, Running Start for juniors and seniors and resources for exploring and identifying post high school learning experiences.  Meet our Dual enrollment teachers and hear from a student panel on the various opportunities available.

• Reminder!  The deadline for Scholarship submissions, particularly local scholarships like Cashmere Schools Foundation Scholarships, is March 1st.  Our community partners are eager to support Bulldogs in their Next Big Move! Please encourage your seniors to apply!

Estudiantes en el primer, segundo y tercer ano escolar aquí en CHS están desarrollando presentaciones que desafián a los estudiantes reflejar en quienes son, sus habilidades y sus caminos profesionales después de la preparatoria.  Creemos que estas presentaciones y el proceso de prepararlas les apoyaran en sus planes académicos y profesionales. De La Oficina del Asistente Director:

Nuestra programa de Apoyos después de Clases ya empezó la semana pasada en la biblioteca entre las 3:05 y 4:00.  Es mandatorio asistir si un maestro le mande al apoyo.  No es opcional. Si el estudiante no asiste sin hablar con la oficina sobre la razón resulta en una detención de oficina.  Apoyo Después de Clases tiene el horario to lunes a jueves, 3:05-4:00 de la tarde.

De La Oficina de las Consejeras:

La Noche para Los Padres del Grado 8:  Estamos animados para dales la bienvenida a los padres de estudiantes que empiezan su experiencia académica en CHS el ano proximo. Jueves, el 9 de Marzo a las 6 pm les invitamos a CHS para aprender sobre la programas, oportunidades en deportes y clubs y para apoyarlos en el proceso de registraron para las clases del primer ano en CHS.

La Noche de Creditos Universitarios: Damos la bienvenida a padres y estudiantes interesados en saber mas sobre las clases que ofrecemos que conceden créditos universitarios aquí en CHS.  Explicaremos nuestra meta de ofrecer una diploma de AA sin salir de nuestra escuela, y la programa de Running Start. Les presentaremos a nuestros profesores de clases que ofrecen crédito universitario.

Ojo!  El primero de marzo es el ultimo día para entregar las aplicaciones de beca! Nuestros compañeros en la comunidad están animados para ofrecerles a nuestros estudiantes apoyo financial para realizar sus metas próximas!

From the Principal's Office:

Last week eight Bulldogs who piloted our Internship Program completed their internships with presentations reflecting on their experiences as interns.  All of our students represented themselves well, and the feedback from their internship supervisors reflected their readiness to represent our school out in the community.  For some of these students, the experience was an affirmation of their career interests.  For others, it fostered the realization that they did not want to go into that profession.  Both are valuable takeaways from Internship!  Our goal at CHS is to provide all our students the opportunity to connect meaningfully with a professional who works in a career of interest during their junior or senior year.

From Guidance:

Scholarship applications to a variety of local scholarship foundations are now open! We encourage all our seniors to apply and take advantage of the generosity of local organizations that are invested in Bulldog futures.  Step 1, build a "brag sheet" that outlines your accomplishments, skills, investments in community service and future goals.  Step 2, check the scholarship postings in front of the School Counselors' Office and connect with Ms. Fall regarding application materials and deadlines.  Most local scholarships have a March 1st deadline.  Step 3, Apply, Apply, Apply!  Donors are eager to support you!  On our Feb. 8th late start, Ms. Fall will be available in the morning to work with any seniors invested in getting their applications completed.

On the start of Semester 2:

One of the great things about school is that it is full of beginnings and endings.  That is to say, fresh starts and meaningful closure.  Each semester at CHS provides Bulldogs the opportunity to earn credits toward graduation.  All students have 32 opportunities during their CHS career to earn the 29 credits they need to graduate.  We have challenged our student body as we close out the semester strong, and we have credit recovery opportunities built into our school day for students who do not pass classes.  Semester 2 represents a fresh start for students to earn credits towards graduation.  Building positive academic routines, including dedicated homework time and place, making study social, whether in person or electronically, and taking advantage of the school time by engaging in course based activities and being a positive presence in the classroom all contribute to successful outcomes.

Instructional Focus at CHS:

As referenced in the December newsletter, both students and faculty identified "Risk Taking" as the expectation of The Bulldog Way where they needed to improve.  One of the outcomes of a recent professional development in our Math team was the realization that "Publication"- Getting students to formalize and present their thinking, understanding, problem-solving - whether through sharing in small groups or large groups, writing to a specific audience, sharing their work with their peers or the public, all translate into increased quality of work.  We are encouraging our teacher to observe each others' practice, elevate the ways they challenge students to expand their comfort zones academically, and create opportunities for students to publish their work daily.

Migrant PAC Meeting 1/25 @ CHS:

Next Wednesday at 6pm our winter Migrant PAC meeting will be held at 6pm in the CHS community Center.  We will eat, hold a leadership election, and develop plans for spring meetings and goals for the remainder of the year and beyond.

La semana pasada, ocho Bulldogs que probaron nuestro programa de pasantías completaron sus pasantías con presentaciones en que reflejaron en sus experiencias como pasantes.   Todos se representaron bien, y los comentarios de sus supervisores reflejaron que estaban listos para representar nuestra escuela en la comunidad.  Para algunos de los estudiantes, la experiencia fue una afirmación de sus intereses profesionales.  Para otros, fomento la comprensión de que no querían dedicarse a esa profesión.  Ambos son realizaciones importantes. Nuestro objetivo en CHS es brindar a todos nuestros estudiantes la oportunidad de conectarse con un profesional en una carrera de interés antes de que se gradúen.

Las solicitudes de becas para una variedad de fundaciones de becas locales ya están abiertas!  Alentamos a todos nuestros adultos mayores a postularse y aprovechar la generosidad de las organizaciones locales que invierten en el futuro de Bulldog.   Paso 1, cree una "hoja de alardes" que describas logros, habilidades, inversiones en servicio comentario y metas futuras.  Paso 2, verifique las publicaciones de becas frente a la Oficina de Consejeras y comuniquese con Sra. Fall sobre las materiales de la solicitud y los plazos.  La mayoría de las becas tienen la fecha final del primero de marzo.  Paso 3,   Aplique, Aplique, Aplique! Sobre el empiezo del Semestre 2:

Una de las muchas cosas que me gustan de la escuela es que esta llena de empiezos y finales. Cada semestre ofrece a nuestros Bulldogs la oportunidad de ganar creditor hacia la graduación.  Cada estudiante tiene 32 oportunidades para ganar los 29 créditos que necesitan para graduarse.  Hemos desafiado a nuestros estudiantes durante el fin del semestre, y tenemos oportunidades para recubrir créditos si fallan en ganarlos en clase.  Semestre 2 representa un empiezo nuevo, y una oportunidad para hacer cambios en rutinas y hábitos que resulten en éxitos académicos, como identificación de un lugar y horario para hacer tareas, aprovechar de oportunidades para hacer social este tiempo, y del tiempo durante el día escolar, y ser una presencia positiva en el salon de clase.

Enfoque educativo en CHS:

Com se menciono en el boletín de diciembre, tantos los estudiantes y nuestros maestros identificaron "Asumir Riesgos" como la expectativa de The Bulldog Way donde necesitaban mejorar.  Uno de los resultados de un desarrollo profesional reciénte con nuestros maestros de matemáticas fue darse cuenta del poder de 'publicación'.  Cuando estudiantes tienen que publicar sus pensamientos, entendimientos o resolución de problemas, en grupos grande o pequeño, todo se resulta en mejor calidad de trabajo.  Les pedimos a nuestros maestros aprovecharse a oportunidades de observar practicas de enseñanza, de ampliar la zona de commodidad de estudiantes y crear oportunidades para que estudiantes publiquen su trabajo.

Reunion de PAC Migrante 1/25 a las 6 en CHS:

  

Miércoles, el 25 de enero, organizamos una reunión de PAC en la cafetería de CHS a las seis de la noche.  El programa de la reunión incluye una cena, la elección de liderazgo del PAC para el año 2023, y desarrollo de un plan de reuniones y prioridades de metas para el invierno y la primavera. 

 

Incluido en este envio son los compromisos del distrito que salieron de nuestra reunión en octubre.

  

Estudiantes de la segundaria estarán presentes para ofrecer cuidado de niños.

As we move into the holiday season we want to celebrate the many Bulldog achievements and look forward with resolution to the New Year and the opportunities to learn, engage meaningfully in school activities and make progress toward graduation.

 From The Principal's Office - In November and December faculty and students have been reflecting on the 7 expectations in The Bulldog Way.  Students used Flipgrid to work collaboratively in groups during advisory to share what it means to be a Respectful Communicator, Empathetic Listener, Risk-taker, Problem-solver, to show Grit, a Growth Mindset, and to Make Work Play.  As a school community both faculty and students reflected on their individual strengths in each expectation, and areas where there was room for growth.  Both students and faculty identified Risk-taking as the largest area for growth.

As a faculty, we met to discuss lessons, classroom routines and performance goals that push our students outside their comfort zone while providing the support to build confidence and foster success.  We will continue to share practices and build confidence within our school community to make Risk-taking a strength in our community.

From The School Counselors Office -With many Bulldog Families traveling during the holidays and missing school on the front or back end of our Winter Break, as well as days missed due to illness, we offer strategies that support maintaining a connection to school should your travel plans start early or end late.  This is great advice any time a student misses school.

A High School Student’s Responsibility When They’ve Missed School

Research shows that one of the most important predictors of academic success and on-time graduation are attending school regularly.

During the winter months, we are all susceptible to colds, flu, and other illnesses.   What should you do if you miss class due to being sick or due to doctor’s appointments?

1 - Email your teachers from home. Let them know that you are interested in maintaining your grades and ask them the best way to access the work that you’ve missed.  Check your email daily. 

2 - Check Google Classroom daily. There may be some work that you can complete and submit  from home.

3 - If you need to miss school for more than 2 days, ask your teacher if work that is NOT on Google Classroom can be sent to the office and collected by your parent or guardian. 

4 - When you come back to school, check your grades, greet your teacher, and ask about missed assignments.  Take notes! You may not remember what you have talked about if you do not write it down.  (Pro-tip: Classmates are also a good resource for learning what you missed in class. Talk to someone who is acing the class!)

5 - Have you missed tests due to illness? Talk to your teacher about the best way to make these up. Your teacher may be available before or after school, or during lunch, so that you can take a test and not miss more class time.

6 - “Afters” is open in the library Monday through Thursday, from 3pm to 4pm to provide you extra support in completing your schoolwork.

 Are you regularly missing school for reasons other than illness or doctor’s appointments? Is your family planning to be gone for an extended period of time? Both of these things could jeopardize your ability to earn credit and graduate on time . Please reach out to your school counselor or administrator.  They can help you to problem solve the situation so that you can improve your school attendance. 

From Our CTE Programs - Congratulations to our Cashmere FFA Apple Judging teams who placed 1^st and 2^nd in State Competition. 

out of 38 teams and over 150 competitors. Alayna Groce was the State Champion High Individual. Seven of our 

kids placed in the top ten. 

Migrant Parent Advisory Council - We held a PAC Meeting on Dec. 6th to share CSD commitments to the Latino Community of Cashmere that came out of our October 12th Listening Session.  Gaby Fernandez from NCESD shared about leadership opportunities in PAC and the opportunities and services Cashmere provides our migrant families.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 25th at 6pm in the CHS Community Center.

A medida que avanzamos en la temporada navideña, queremos celebrar los logros de nuestros Bulldogs y esperamos con resolución el anos nuevo y las oportunidades para aprender, participar de manera significativa en las actividades escolares y advanzar hacia la graduación.

De la Oficina del Director - En Noviembre y diciembre, la facultad y los estudiantes reflexionaron sobre las siete expectativas en The Bulldog Way.  Los estudiantes usaron Flipgrid para trabajar en colaboracion en grupos durante el periodo de asesoría para discutir que significa ser un comunicador respetuoso, oyente empatizo, tomador de riesgos, solucionador de problemas, mostrador de valor, tener una mentalidad de crecimiento, y gozar el trabajo. Como comunidad escolar, la facultad y los estudiantes reflexionaron sobre sus fortalezas individuales en cada expectativa y las areas donde podían mejorarse. Los dos grupos identificaron "Tomar Riesgos" como la area que merecía atención y trabajo.

Como facultad, nos reunimos para analizar las lecciones, las rutinas de clase y las metas de desempeño que empujan a nuestros estudiantes fuera de su zona de confort mientras brindan el apoyo para generar confianza y fomentar el éxito.  Continuaremos compartiendo practicas y generando confianza dentro de nuestra comunidad escolar para hacer la toma de riesgos una fortaleza en nuestra comunidad. 

De la Oficina de Las Consejeras- Con muchas familias viajando durante las vacaciones y perdiendo días escolares antes de y después de la vacación, y también por días perdidas por la enfermedad, ofrecemos estrategias que apoyan las connection a la escuela durante las ausencias. Representa buen consejo cualquier tiempo que los estudiantes estén ausentes. 

La responsabilidad de un estudiante de secundaria cuando esta ausente de la escuela.

Las investigaciones muestran que uno de los predictores más importantes del éxito académico y la graduación a tiempo es asistir a la escuela con regularidad. Que debes hace si por enfermedad o cualquier razón no puedes asistir a las clases?

1. Envía un correo electrónico a tus profesores desde casa. Hágales saber que está interesado en mantener sus calificaciones y pregúnteles cuál es la mejor manera de acceder al trabajo que se ha perdido. Revisa tu correo electrónico diariamente.
2. Revisa Google Classroom o el sitio de su clase diariamente. Puede haber algún trabajo que pueda completar y enviar desde su casa.
3. Si necesita faltar a la escuela por más de 2 días, pregúntele a su maestro si el trabajo que NO está en Google Classroom puede enviarse a la oficina y ser recogido por su padre o tutor.
4. Cuando regrese a la escuela, verifique sus calificaciones, salude a su maestro y pregúntele sobre las tareas perdidas. ¡Toma nota! Es posible que no recuerde lo que ha hablado si no lo escribe. (Consejo profesional: los compañeros de clase también son un buen recurso para aprender lo que te perdiste en clase. ¡Habla con alguien que esté sobresaliendo en la clase!)
5. ¿Ha faltado a exámenes por enfermedad? Habla con tu maestro sobre la mejor manera de inventarlos. Su maestro puede estar disponible antes o después de la escuela, o durante el almuerzo, para que pueda tomar un examen y no perder más tiempo de clase.

Consejo Asesor de Padres Migrantes - Celebramos una reunión del PAC el 6 de diciembre para compartir los compromisos de CSD con la comunidad latina de Cashmere que surgieron de nuestra sesión de escucha del 12 de octubre. October is all about student support!  Many of our Bulldogs are struggling to adapt to our expectations for timely, quality work production and completion.  As progress reports come out, know that we are intervening on behalf of students to support their improved performance.  The After-school Academic Support Program is a mandated, one-hour academic intervention after school in the CHS library M-Th from 3:05-4:05.   Facilitated by certified teachers, this program is based on teacher referral. When students are referred, you will be contacted to arrange alternate transportation if necessary.  Student remain referred for support until they complete missing assignments that get their grade to passing.  Contact your student's teacher if you have questions regarding how you can best support your student's learning. We are excited to announce that Cashmere High School offers a Student Assistance Program (SAP). The program provides a wide variety of behavioral health education, prevention, intervention, and recovery support services to students. 

The goals of the program include:

1. Providing mental health support
2. Supporting transitions for new students to the district
3. Preventing substance use/abuse
4. Reducing the prevalence of substance abuse among teens 
5. Improving school attendance and academic performance 

Karly Kingrey is the Student Assistance Professional for Cashmere High School, and an employee of North Central Educational Service District 171. Karly comes to us with a masters of social work and a background in working in community mental health particularly with adolescents in multiple settings, including schools. Our SAP’s hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM. However, evening hours may be arranged to meet with parents and community groups.  Karly will be meeting with students individually and in small groups to provide student support.  Karly will provide education and guidance to students who are impacted by substance use in any way.  Karly will teach refusal skills and assist students in making healthy choices. Karly will also be introducing a prevention curriculum in classrooms.

Two weeks ago we held the first of monthly Parent/Admin Meetings aimed at improving two-way communication with Bulldog Families.  If you could not attend, you can find video of the event HERE

Our next meeting, scheduled for 5:30 on Nov. 1st in the CHS Community Center, focuses on Student Support.  It precedes our Open House, between 6:00-8:00pm and coincides with Parent Conferences, scheduled for Oct. 31st between 8:00-3:00pm and Nov. 1st between noon-5pm.

Attendance is critical to student engagement and continuity of learning experience!  Of course, there are circumstances beyond our control that factor into attendance.  We are establishing the attendance goal of 95% combined attendance for the October and November, and awarding prizes to the grade levels with the highest attendance rate.  Mr. Brown recently met with students who are closing in on "chronic absenteism" numbers for the semester.  We are committed to providing any supports available to get as many Bulldogs in school daily.  We are better together!

Last week we initiated the College Planning Process in an informative presentation by Ms. Fall. 

There are additional opportunities for support in the planning process in the coming weeks.  For help filling out the Financial Aid Forms, both Federal and State, WVC is offering support on Oct. 6th.  See their promo below.

Juniors and Seniors are invited to meet with recruiters and admissions folks visiting CHS.

We have the following scheduled for the month of October:

Armed Forces recruiters will be in the building Wednesday, Oct. 5th

Gonzaga, Seattle University, Western and Seattle Pacific University will also visit in October.  Students can find the dates for recruiters on the windows of the School Counselors Office and in the Daily Bulletin.

We are celebrating HOMECOMING WEEK with themed days, pep assemblies and lunch activities organized by our Leadership Class.  Friday's school day culminates with a Pep Rally, and Homecoming Football against Cascade.  The Homecoming Dance is scheduled for 7:00pm in the CHS Community Center.

September 2022

 We are excited to welcome Bulldogs back to school!  Our Senior Parade and Kickoff Assembly set a great tone for the first day of school.  Most schedule issues have been resolved and students should be coming home with class syllabi, a Student Health Form and a Student Lunch Form that demands your signature.

We have made a commitment this year to improve our communication with families at the classroom and building level. Parents and guardians are a critical support to ensure that students stay engaged in learning,  have access to supports and are involved in school activities, clubs, organizations and support.  How can you help?

• Reinforce expectations we have for students at home, including:
• Dress code.
• Timely completion of school work.
• Expectations outlined in our behavior code.
• Encouragement of active participation in extracurricular activities.

• We will review the Student Handbook with students in September.
• We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our school expectations so that you can support them from home.
• Our Athletics program has a Code of Conduct reviewed with athletes each season.  Find those expectations HERE
• In addition, this month we are developing a parallel Code of Conduct and disciplinary protocols for extracurricular activities outside of athletics, including our CTE Organizations, Music and Drama Programs and Clubs.  Look for this in the October newsletter.

On Thursday, September 22nd we will host a Parent Night with CHS Administration.  This will become a themed,  monthly meeting where families have the opportunities to learn about our school and provide input on how we can best deliver service to students and families.  We will provide two meetings on that date, one communicated in English at 6pm, and in Spanish at 7pm.  The theme for our September meeting is Parent Feedback & the CHS School Improvement Plan.  At both meetings we will provide opportunities for parents to share ideas for how we can improve communication, provide an overview of feedback from families who responded to our Educational Effectiveness Survey last spring, and take families through our School Improvement Plan goals for the year.  We are excited to make connecting  in person a meaningful routine in our school community again!

Academic Support for Students

• We continue to improve our academic supports for struggling students and we want to communicate with you the supports available.  CHS Faculty have identified for you the times of day and days of the week they make themselves available for academic support.  Find a link to teacher support availability HERE.  If these times do not work with your students we encourage them to communicate directly with their teacher to find a time that works for both.
• This year we are piloting a Study Strategies course.  Mr. Brown and I are teaching one of the courses and all teachers are meeting regularly to ensure the courses are aligned and support student needs.  The instructional focus is on personalized academic skill and strategy development.  Students will learn strategies for success, practice them in their classes, and reflect on which best support their learning.  The course provides in-school time for students to connect with teachers, recover lost credits and creates levers to support timely assignment completion.

School Safety

In an effort to ensure the safety of all our school community members, we have made recommitments to our protocols.  We need your help to ensure that all students and staff feel safe in our building.

All CHS faculty and staff will wear school ID badges visibly, as will any guests to our school.  Our guest protocols demand that visitors are vetted through our Raptor system.  We are encouraging students and staff to report any adult in the building not badged and any unfamiliar presence.

 

Starting today, we are no longer propping open doors, or allowing anyone access to our building other than through our main entrance. Students and staff can continue to exit any of our doors when leaving the building, but all students must return through the main entrance unless accompanied by a faculty member.

We are reinforcing our pass system to ensure we know where students are in the building.

We continue to drill for emergency situations, and reflect on how we can improve our response time.  Our school district is working with emergency response organizations to provide guidance on appropriate responses to various situations.

 

Most importantly, we are encouraging all school community members that if they see something out of the ordinary or someone disregulated in our school community, say something.
